Transfer Orientation is a one-day, on-campus program required of all new transfer students. We recognize that you are coming to the U of M with previous college experience and offer an abbreviated orientation program that meets your transfer needs. This includes completing an online orientation prior to arriving to your on-campus orientation experience.
Orientation & Transition Experiences will begin communicating orientation related information once you have confirmed your enrollment with the Office of Admissions.
At orientation, you will:
meet with an academic advisor and register for classes
become familiar using the University’s course management tool Canvas
meet with one stop financial aid counselors
visit the resource fair to learn more about university resources available to you as a new student
connect with the transfer student leaders
have the option to take a campus tour
We encourage your parents and guests to participate in the Parents, Families and Guests Orientation program.
