Theatre & Arts

The Twin Cities ranks #6 as the most arts-vibrant metro in the United States (National Center for Arts Research, 2023). The Minneapolis theater scene is renowned nationwide with touring Broadway shows and locally produced plays gracing Minnesota's 400-plus stages almost every night. With more than 65 theaters in the Twin Cities, you can catch a touring Broadway show at the Orpheum, local production about race and class at Mixed Blood Theatre, watch a live recording of a favorite podcast at the Fitzgerald, or experience a concert at historic First Avenue.

Parks & Recreation

The Twin Cities have the #2 (St. Paul) and #3 (Minneapolis) best park systems in the country (Trust for Public Land, 2023). There are 535 parks between the two cities, meaning 98% of Twin Cities residents live within a 10-minute walk of a park. Our parks aren't just playgrounds and benches, you can kayak or paddleboard at one of the many lakes, walk the Mississippi riverbank, and explore a waterfall at Minnehaha Falls!

Not only are there great parks, Minneapolis is consistently featured as a top bike-friendly city, currently ranked as #10 (LawnStarter, 2023).

Sports

Minneapolis and St. Paul are home to seven major league sports teams: Twins (MLB), Vikings (NFL), United (MLS), Lynx (WNBA), Timberwolves (NBA), Wild (NHL), Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). St. Paul is also home to the St. Paul Saints, a Minor League affiliate of the Twins.

Outside of professional sports, the University of Minnesota is home to the Golden Gophers!
